“The clubhouse restaurant is an extremely important revenue driver at any golf course, especially because you don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy its services.” —Chronogolf

The Veranda Restaurant at The Peninsula Club offers an Upscale Casual Dining experience for our Members. This 70 seat restaurant is on the main level and offers spectacular views of Lake Norman and the fifth and ninth greens.
The concept of our design was to pull together the old and new members of the club with a style that had both traditional and modern aspects. We achieved this through a mid-century inspired style, creating a lively and social atmosphere where members want to stay all night to socialize.
We decided to centralize the bar to create a social atmosphere in the Veranda Room. The existing vaulted ceiling allowed the perfect opportunity for a central bar and a beautiful overbar structure cascading from above. A wine wall behind the bar creates a beautiful backdrop, an intimate entrance, and excellent storage for a growing wine program. Bar height, counter height, and dining height seating in the bar area provide variety in the space for different types of dining. The reserve room to the side offers an intimate atmosphere for more traditional members while still giving a glimpse to the action in the bar. A striking book-matched fireplace is a modern twist on a traditional element (the fireplace). The use of marble, brass and deep blue tones give an elegant upscale traditional feel, while the white painted wood and furniture selections provide a fresh and updated look.
