“I have heard it said that an inoculation to the sights and smells of the Carolina lowcountry is an almost irreversible antidote to the charms of other landscapes, other alien geographies. You can be moved profoundly by other vistas, by other oceans, by soaring mountain ranges, but you can never be seduced. You can even forsake the lowcountry, renounce it for other climates, but you can never completely escape the sensuous, semitropical pull of Charleston and her marshes.” ―Pat Conroy

The Establishment is located between Church and State Streets in the heart of Charleston and provides a sophisticated, upscale dining experience. The historic building offered architectural finishes and details that give The Establishment a classic Charleston feel. New contemporary elements were added which include a video wall behind the back bar, an expo kitchen, a multi-level wine room, and paintings by local artists. The arched entry hall leads guests into a series of dining rooms, all with different seating types and dining experiences. The oak beam ceilings and heart pine floors give the space an authentic warmth fitting of Charleston.
“With something of a Midas touch, everything about the restaurant works: Buzzy, popular, and teeming with energy around the bar, service remains personal and intimate. The space itself feels historic, with high ceilings and portions of artfully exposed brick, yet the large, digital aquarium and chef’s table dining area are fresh and contemporary. Fun meets foundation: There’s undeniable chemistry from the start.” – Charleston City Paper
