The Exchange at AT&T Discovery District

“Food is everything we are. It’s an extension of nationalist feeling, ethnic feeling, your personal history, your province, your region, your tribe, your grandma. It’s inseparable from those from the get-go.” — Anthony Bourdain

Cooper Carry designed The Exchange food hall at AT&T Discovery District as part of the redevelopment of AT&T’s 2.5 million-square-foot (SF) Dallas headquarters into a mixed-use, entertainment-filled, food-anchored experience for AT&T employees and the downtown community. Located in a 1970s-era space that once served as a telecommunications call center and spanning 26,700 SF, The Exchange features two levels of bars and eateries from a diverse roster of chefs as well as a multitude of indoor-outdoor dining spaces overlooking the District’s high-definition, nine-story digital media wall. Each vendor stall inside features a unique façade to reflect the distinct offerings and personality of each culinary concept. The cohesive space was maintained through the use of consistent materials and colors throughout the hall, and special areas for taking photos were created to make the space interactive for users.
