The creation of a unique, romantic greenhouse-inspired bar and lounge was part of The St. Regis Atlanta’s multimillion-dollar renovation. Previously an outdoor terrace, the 3,000-square-foot space is now fully enclosed with a vaulted glass-and-steel roof and operable sliding windows. Anchoring the room and illuminated with ethereal lighting, a fantastical, white tree sculpture serves as the focal point of the large island bar. A palette of deeply saturated jewel tones combined with unexpected electric shades complements the adjacent spaces while standing apart as fresh and current. The seating is outfitted with highly decorative floral fabrics and fringed pillows in emerald-green and magenta-fuchsia to juxtapose the geometric patterns and color motifs found inside the hotel’s upscale restaurant. A custom glass mosaic mural commissioned by our design firm and made in Italy with hand-cut glass tiles reinterprets one of a famous artist’s last unfinished works, and a variety of live plants and trees in eclectic planters are showcased throughout the lush space, with up-lighting used for dramatic effect. Guests can enjoy a craft cocktail and escape the city in this solarium garden utopia.
