Windstar Cruises undertook a $250 million initiative to lengthen and renovate their Star Plus fleet of ships. They brought on The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry as their interior designers for the initiative’s three ships –Star Breeze, Star Legend, and Star Pride.
The team’s designs for the new and expanded guest areas include: new guest rooms, a casual restaurant, a new alternative restaurant, a new BBQ venue, an enlarged gym and spa, expanded shops, and an enlarged open deck with a new pool and lounging area.
With the goal of meshing the design of the existing ship with the new “stretched” areas, The Johnson Studio drew from the existing palette of brass, oak, and rich nautical colors, translating them into a more contemporary styling. The result is a seamless experience that preserves what guests love most while offering an exciting, fresh look.
